Are you weary of feeling tossed about in the stormy seas of economic stress and uncertainty? If so, you’re not alone! With the Great Recession heading into its sixth year, no one has been untouched by far-reaching ramifications of the economic downturn—unemployment, underemployment and a drastically different supply of opportunities.

As a result, the fabric of jobs and career pathways is being rewoven across a range of sectors. So what’s a professionally motivated, critically-thinking U of C Alum to do?

Rethink the model, of course . . .

Join us for a webinar exploring new ideas about ‘resilience’ as it applies to the world of work. Recent multidisciplinary research suggests that the traditional view of resilience as “bouncing back” is oversimplified.

This webinar will examine how the experts are redefining the idea of ‘bouncebackability’ and consider the implications for work, family, organizations and communities. We’ll also share information on an array of career resources available to you as a U of C alum.

Jennifer Woods Parker, M.A., M.S.W., is a Coach and Consultant in Charlotte, N.C. who serves as the Career Chair for the N.C. Alumni Club. She has experienced the challenges of graduating into recessions on multiple occasions during her career in coaching, training and consulting.
