On Saturday, April 12th the UChicago Club of Washington is offering an exciting opportunity for a private tasting from a newly launched Italian-inspired artisanal liqueur company.  Don Ciccio & Figli is based in Washington, DC and the company's President and Founder, Francesco Amodeo, will be leading the tasting.  Don Ciccio & Figli is critically-acclaimed for it's vibrant all-natural signature spirits including popular favorites Limoncello and Concerto.  Amodeo will present his complete line of artisanal liqueur arsenal featuring almost a dozen of his liqueurs.  
 
Don Ciccio & Figli brings the rich history of artisanal liqueur making from the Amalfi Coast to the United States through a series of time-tested recipes handed down from generation to generation.  While Amodeo recently created the DC based company, his family's recipes date back to 1883.  After almost 100 years, his family distillery shut down in 1980, because of a massive earthquake. The distillery and the lemon trees were completely destroyed by the catastrophic event.
 
Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy samples of each liqueur, and then will proceed in sampling five handcrafted cocktails by Amodeo following the tasting (which will include other locally produced liquors and alcohols).  In addition, a local chef will prepare and serve food while guests sample drinks, learn about the history behind the company, and the process for creating these specialty liqueurs.
