University of Chicago Motet Choir Concert

As the only touring group of the UChicago Department of Music, we are pleased to welcome the Motet Choir to the DC area on their 2013 East Coast tour!

Cost: Free
No Registration Required
This December, Motet Choir will undertake its most extensive tour to date, traveling over 1,500 miles and giving upwards of ten performances, including seven formal concerts. These engagements represent the flourishing of a new initiative for major, annual tours, a program designed to connect to connect the choir to the wider community and to represent the University's deep engagement with the arts.

Motet Choir will travel to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, New Haven, New York City, Gettysburg, and our nation's capitol with a program featuring clusters of seasonal small-form works from a broad range of cultures and time periods ranging from Josquin and Byrd to colonial American music and the work of living composers framed by the medieval O Antiphons (chants for the last days before Christmas). We are pleased to welcome the Motet Choir to the greater Philadelphia area and hope that alumni will be able to join us for this wonderful concert.
