Chicago Economics Society—Remembering Professor Gary Becker—July 15, 2015, 6:00 pm, IMF HQ2 Conference Hall 1

Professor Gary S. Becker, one of the most influential economists of the last century, is best known for his pioneering scholarship - which applied the insights of economic thought, for the first time, to social phenomena as diverse as discrimination, education, and the family. Less well known, but equally important, is Professor Becker’s legacy as a teacher. Over the course of nearly five decades, Professor Becker mentored generation after generation of the world’s brightest economics students.

Join us for a conversation with a panel of Economic experts (including senior staff at the World Bank and IMF) who are Professor Becker’s former students who will discuss Professor Becker’s lasting personal and intellectual impact on them and their peers.
