Career Development Considerations for UChicago Women

Cost: Free
Many women face common challenges in the work place and in their career development, but they often choose to address them very differently. Countless female leaders have contributed to the playbook for successful career development, but no universal solution has emerged. Recently, Sheryl Sandberg has encouraged women to "lean in" to their career development, while others, including Anne-Marie Slaughter, have commented that "having it all" may be more complicated - and more difficult - than that. Ultimately, it may be up to every woman to decide what "having it all" means for her, based on her own experience, education, and values. This panel will explore how women equipped with a University of Chicago education have navigated the Washington DC professional market, the choices that they have made in the course of developing their careers and personal lives, and possible solutions for fellow female alumni.
