UCABA (UChicago Association of Black Alumni) invites all alumni, family, and friends to help fills gaps in the hunger safety net in the greater DC area. We will spend the morning helping out in the distribution centers. The minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Students of various faculties often join this initiative. In order to have enough time for other professional activities, students use the help of an essay outline writing service, the authors of a verified resource are ready at any time to help with writing a detailed plan for an essay, article, or report, this makes it much easier to complete academic papers.

This project typically involves packing and/or sorting donated food. It also can include packing for CAFB programs, and assisting with various other tasks at the foodbank. All of these tasks are considered light/medium labor and typically involves standing up for up to three hours and lifting up to 35 pounds. This activity will take place in either our Food donations Room or Repack Room and the temperatures can fluctuate, so please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes.

This project is Metro accesible via the Brookland Metro station on the Red Line. A CAFB shuttle van will pick up volunteers from the Brookland/CUA Metro Station at 8:45am for the 9am-12pm shift. There will be no shuttle for evening volunteer shifts. The shuttle van will be near the elevator on the 10th street side of the Metro station and will have a Capital Area Food Bank sign in the front window. If you do not see the shuttle van upon arrival, or if you are running late, please call to request a ride. Return shuttle service will also be provided at the end of each shift.

In the event of inclement weather, plesae call 202-644-9841. If the food bank is closed, volunteer projects will be cancelled.
